A volunteer for Saveur des Chiens posted an urgent message on social media. Someone owning a female German Shepherd Dog decided to breed her. The puppies are mix breeds. Now the owner wants the mother and puppies off the property immediately. I told the rescue volunteer that I would relay the story to help the mother and pups. I will post more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, this is the person to contact:
Myriam (832) 872-3633 As 2018 comes to a close we tend to look back @ the big events, the ones that made news. But, almost 2 weeks ago, a client sent me a photo of her doggies after I bathed them and left them with kibble, treats and crunchies to nosh on. When I looked @ that photo, I felt so happy. The doggies appeared content and peaceful. It made me think about how much I enjoy spending time with them. Then, I had a thought. Every day is just a series of moments and happiness is appreciating those moments as they happen. Sure, we all have challenges, but life is so much more than that. I thought of all of you that open up your homes and share your love of pets with me and how wonderful that is. But, I was also a little sad that you can not all meet and get to know each other. So, that was it. I wanted you all to see what I see. Although I can not convey the feelings I have as I do the work of filling the orders and hugging the furry ones, I can show you the faces that I love. It only took a moment to decide to ask you all for photos of your pets taken in your homes this year.
As we look back on 2018, I hope you remember not the craziness that is broadcast nonstop across media, but that you are connected to something wonderful, something that brings you a little sunshine every single day. We are all blessed that we share our lives with pets. Creatures that personify everyday what we exude on our BEST days: acceptance, simplicity, joy and love. When I look back on 2018 this is what I will remember. I am so grateful to each of you for allowing me to be a part of your fur-families. And, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do. Special thanks to the kind folks that had current photos to share. Deepest Gratitude, Peace and Love, S. Yesterday, we held a fundraiser in conjunction with our friends @ Yuppie Dog to secure a service dog for Justin Hill, a man with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) who also happens to be my son. Despite the cold and a few snafus, we all had a really great time evidenced by these fun photos of canines and their families with Santa. All the proceeds went to Operation Overwatch, an organization that rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to be service dogs for people with TBI and PTSD. They call it "Healing at Both Ends of the Leash." Isn't that wonderful? We are so grateful to all the big hearted people that participated as our guests. We also want to thank our vendor Leah Bushland (Mary Kay rep extrordinaire!), and all the local businesses that donated silent auction and raffle prizes: Rebecca Lankford Designs, Yuppie Dog, STUTZ Studiowerks, C&D Hardware and Gifts, Commissional Coffee, Canine Behavior Specialist, Athas Florist and Ashley Cakes. Gourmet Familia arrived about midway through the event and served hot paninis as well as delicious soup. Also, a special shout out to all of our wonderful volunteers: Joann, Patrick, Lily, Jack and Ellie. They worked so hard despite the cold. What a lovely, positive group! I am posting these photos with the intent that the participants of Canine Christmas can capture photos off this page. Feel free to share them on social media. And, when you do, please consider adding a link to Justin's Flipcause campaign. That would be awesome. Here's the link: https://www.flipcause.com/secure/fundraiser/MzE2NzE=/15479 Canine Christmas may be a happy memory, but Justin still needs more funding to reach his dream of a service dog to call his very own. Your donations are tax deductable. Thank you!!!!! (Scroll down to the bottom to participate in our online Silent Auction.) Silent Auction If you missed Canine Christmas, no worries. Dear Pet Parents,
Since we provide Small Animal Pet Sitting in The Woodlands area, I get a lot of calls about doggie daycare in Houston. Sorry folks, we don't provide that service. But, I'd like to recommend our friends @ Yuppie Dog in the Heights. They are super friendly, have a great facility and have a wonderful Canine Behavior Specialist (Mary Kegarise) on staff to boot. Dear Clients, Friends;
I have been plugging away building my own websites to promote my professional pet business and other endeavors for many years. I just want to take a moment to thank ipower for making it easy. They have great tech support available 24/7 and lots of Web hosting products to choose from. If you have ever wanted to try building a website yourself, click the link above. You' ll save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars and have fun in the process. Have a beautiful evening everyone! Sandy Good Evening Pet Parents,
This evening's newsletter has only 2 topics, but is loaded with important information. Please, take a moment to read: 1)Since changing the name of A Peaceful Pet to PetProductDelivery.com, adding new services and an online store, we have seen an increase in pet product orders from people across the U.S. Hurray! Many, many thanks to each and every one of you! However, our original web platform is clunky and does not handle seamlessly with the online store. A couple of years ago adding an online store to our current website and directing visitors of apeacefulpet.com to the same URL as PetProductDelivery.com seemed like a good idea. Since then our product selection has grown many times larger than is reflected on the website. So, I see no further reason for people who want to shop for the best prices on the very best pet products to have to log on and slog through a site that is not effective. And, I see no reason to change the entire website, because the services side of this business (grooming, ect.) is completely unchanged. Here's what this boils down to for our valued clients: A) Beginning this weekend I will be directing the PetProductDelivery.comURL to the online store, only. It will be built in a better, cleaner, more user friendly format with many more products. This will take time. At the very least it will not be up before Monday, but most likely it will take longer. B) For those logging on to PetProductDelivery.com, there will be a link back to the old site with services and the old online store until the new online store is finished. C) Clients that prefer calling in, e-mailing or texting their orders may continue to do so...even after the new site is finished. D) Clients that like using the old online store the way it is can continue to do so until the new store is finished. When everything is up and running I will e-mail an announcement with a link for pet parents to enjoy a smoother online shopping experience. And, as always, I still guarantee the best prices. If you see a lower price on a product I carry somewhere else, let me know and I will drop my price to beat it. 2) As a special "thank you" to everyone for being patient with this process, I am offering a flat 5.00 off all orders of 55.00 - 99.99 and 15.00 off all orders of 100.00 or more. This offer is open to all clients, local and across the country. This offer is good on orders submitted via phone, text or e-mail. Any combination of products. Your choice. This offer is good through Sunday, May the 5th @ 8:00p. My deepest gratitude for all the kind, loyal, fabulous pet parents that have supported this business over the years. Your support and feedback have been priceless. Really, I can not thank you enough. Have a beautiful evening everyone! Not very long after was a whole string of posts from neighbors offering to help out. Then a rescue group called A Chance to Bloom jumped in to lend a hand, also. I was inspired by all these neighbors helping neighbors helping a lovely senior doggie that had been neglected, so I've decided to make rescues and rescue groups a regular feature on this blog. Here's one such story:
Lilly is approximately 12 years old. She was neglected and roaming the neighborhood for a couple of months. Skinny, but very friendly, she has arthritis and is being treated for a UTI. If you would like to give Lilly a forever home or help out with donations, please contact the rescue group sponsoring her by clicking this link: http://www.achancetobloom.org A Chance to Bloom is a rescue group in Conroe, TX. They take some of the absolute worst neglect and abuse cases as well as death row doggies and turn their lives around. Their motto is Helping Pups Blossom to Forever Homes. Ask them about Lilly. I've posted her photos, below. Have a beautiful evening, everyone! |
