I have three bits of news to share with you today. They include 1) Holiday Sale, 2) a fun and easy Win Your Favorite Product contest, and 3) this week's Featured Product.
 
1) Holiday Sale
 
Our last 24 Hour Sale was such a hit that I decided to repeat it for the Labor Day holiday. This is a contest so fun and easy, I am surprised that I haven't thought of it before. Simply e-mail one photo of your pet with your favorite APP retail product. Write a line or two about why your pet loves it. I'll post the entry to my blog Peaceful Ponderings. Winners will be chosen on October 1st by individuals not associated with A Peaceful Pet. There's a reason that Claudia is the most photographed pet @ my house. Just look @ her. Not @ all camera shy, she never misses an opportunity to strike a pose. The more attention, the better, for this photogenic fur-kid. Meow!

Meet Massimo! He is a connoisseur of fine toys. The pup has many to choose from, but I am told that he has one favorite: the L'il Rooster. Submitted for your entertainment, an adorable toy dog battling his favorite stuffed toy. Enjoy!

People often ask me how their pet will respond to being groomed in the home. They ask, "What should I do?" "What if my pet behaves badly?" "What will happen?" I tell people that the one thing that they can do that would be the most help while the pet is being groomed is to relax and behave as they always do. The pet is in his or her home. This will feel normal to them.

I thought it might be fun if I shared photos of three very different pets, in three very different homes, in entirely different parts of town whose families have very different lifestyles. These photos were shot today, minutes after the grooming was completed. This way you, the pet parent, can see for yourself how relaxed and happy the pets really are.

Maddie was adopted, so we think she's about 7 or 8 years old. I've been grooming her for 4 1/2 years. When we first met, her Mom told me that Maddie had a very bad experience before she was adopted. Maddie was nervous @ first. She didn't know what to expect. We quickly became good friends.

As soon as I walked in the door today, she asked for her belly rub! :-)  Her Mom and canine sister went for a walk in the neighborhood while I groomed Maddie in the kitchen.

As you can see from these photos, Maddie LOVES her groom visit! She's a happy blur as she runs all around. She knows that she's going to get a treat and lots of extra attention. Personally, I think she enjoys showing off for her Mom. 
;-) Maddie likes checking out my grooming bags and smelling her Fur-Sis to see where she went on her walk.

I have been grooming Ace since he was four months old...and that was 4 years ago. My how time flies! He lives with two human sisters who love him to pieces and who have grown up a lot since I met them. 

Ace was enjoying a swim in the pool with his family and some friends when I arrived today. The pool party continued as I groomed Ace in the kitchen. 

After his groom, Ace very politely took his treats and then posed pretty-as-you-please, occasionally glancing out the back doors to see what was going on @ the pool. Ace is the picture of contentment.

I met Scruffy last summer when she was twenty-years-young. She has a wonderful, busy family. It is an honor and a privilege to groom a kitty of this age.

When I arrived today, Scruffy was sunning herself on the sofa. The family and I walked through the door @ the same time. I have no idea what everyone was doing while I was grooming her in the living room, because I never take my eyes off a cat until I am completely finished. I do know everyone was still in the house because it only took me all of 19 minutes to clip most of Scruffy's hair off. 

I carried Scruffy to the sofa and put her back in the sun where I found her. I offered her some Dry Roasted Venison Liver and she accepted the treat right away. Her human sisters and brother were reading and watching T.V. Scruffy doesn't seem to mind being groomed one bit.
